How does Wise Compass teach children to respect the property and belongings of others?

Respecting the property of others is a fundamental lesson in empathy and justice. Wise Compass helps children understand that another person’s belongings are a sacred trust and that touching or taking them without permission is a breach of character. As Muslim parents, we want our children to be known for their integrity and respect for boundaries. Our Islamic stories for kids illustrate that when we respect what belongs to others, we are reflecting the fairness and honesty found in the noble Quran and the pleasure of Allah Almighty.

Through values-based reading, we present scenarios where characters learn to ask for permission and to handle borrowed items with care. Our faith-friendly story platform highlights that being a ‘trustworthy friend’ means protecting the rights of others. In stories like Learning in the Garden, the theme of Amanah and responsibility can be applied to how we treat everything around us. By following the perfectly honest and respectful character of holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who was the ultimate model of integrity in all his dealings, children are inspired to be careful. We want children to feel that their respect for property is a sign of their own maturity. Wise Compass provides the social-emotional learning tools for children to empathise with how someone else feels about their things. By making respect for property an attractive trait, we help children develop a character defined by its justice and sincerity. They learn that by being respectful, they are bringing Barakah into their relationships and building a reputation for being reliable, ensuring they grow into individuals who value the rights of everyone in their community.
