Will Wise Compass help my child use strengths ethically instead of to impress?
Every child has unique talents and strengths, but the temptation to use them to seek attention or ‘show off’ can be a distraction from true character development. Wise Compass helps children understand that their strengths are a gift and an Amanah from Allah Almighty, meant to be used for goodness and service. As Muslim parents, we want our children to strive for excellence with Sincerity, or Ikhlas. Our Islamic stories for kids illustrate that using our talents to help others is far more rewarding than using them to impress, as described in the noble Quran.
Through values-based reading, we show characters who discover their strengths and use them to solve problems or bring joy to their families and friends. Our faith-friendly story platform highlights that true success is found in the benefit we bring to others. In stories like Learning in the Garden, the act of using one’s skills to care for a living space shows how strengths can be used purposefully. By mirroring the selfless and focused example of holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who used his immense qualities solely for the pleasure of Allah Almighty and the guidance of humanity, children are encouraged to be sincere. We want children to feel that their abilities are a way to practice their faith. Wise Compass provides the social-emotional learning tools for children to value the act of doing well over the act of being noticed. By making ethical use of strengths an attractive trait, we help children develop a character defined by its sincerity. They learn that by using their gifts for good, they are bringing Barakah into their lives and building a life of true meaning and integrity.
