Allah Almighty states in the noble Quran at Surah Ash Sharh (94), Verses 5-6: 

‘For indeed, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease…’ 

This powerful repetition is not just a promise of future relief; it teaches that ease is intrinsically linked with hardship. For a child, this means understanding that the struggle to learn something new is the very process that creates strength and eventual mastery. It is through the challenge that ease is born. 

Teaching children this spiritual principle transforms the concept of long-term effort into an act of worship. It helps them understand that every challenge met with sabr (patient perseverance) carries a profound spiritual reward and is a sign of divine love, not abandonment. 

It is recorded in Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 4031, that the holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:  

‘The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allah loves a people, He tests them, and whoever accepts it, gains His pleasure; whoever complains, earns His wrath.’ 

This beautiful hadith reframes life’s difficulties. It teaches a child that success is not defined solely by the final achievement, but by the strength of character developed while navigating challenges with patience. It is through these tests that a person polishes their faith, draws closer to their Creator, and earns an immeasurable reward. This perspective turns daily effort into a source of enduring spiritual merit and transforms the pursuit of a skill into a journey toward Allah.
