How does Wise Compass teach children to listen fully before responding?
In our fast-paced world, the art of listening is often lost, yet it is essential for empathy and understanding. Wise Compass helps children realise that listening is an act of respect and a way to learn about the world and others. As Muslim parents, we want our children to be attentive and thoughtful, following the guidance of the noble Quran to listen carefully. Our Islamic stories for kids illustrate that being a good listener is a key part of having excellent manners. We aim to show that listening fully is the first step toward a meaningful response.
Through values-based reading, we show the misunderstandings that happen when we don’t listen properly. Our faith-friendly story platform highlights characters who learn to quiet their own thoughts to truly hear what someone else is saying. In stories like Learning in the Garden, the act of observing and listening to nature is shown as a way to gain wisdom and Barakah. By following the attentive example of holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who gave his full attention to whoever was speaking to him, children learn to value the speaker. We want children to feel that their attention is an Amanah from Allah Almighty. Wise Compass helps children develop active listening skills, such as making eye contact and waiting for their turn to speak. This builds their social-emotional learning and communication skills. By making listening an attractive and rewarded trait, we help children build deeper connections with their family and friends. They learn that by listening more, they can understand more and speak with greater wisdom, which is a sign of a heart that is seeking to do good for the sake of Allah Almighty.
