How do Wise Compass books encourage safe “let’s test it” thinking at home?

We want our children to be explorers, but we also want them to be safe and respectful in their curiosity. Wise Compass encourages ‘let’s test it’ thinking by grounding a child’s natural inquisitiveness in the values of responsibility and trust, or Amanah. We show children that testing an idea is a way to gain wisdom, provided it is done with care and for the right reasons. This helps parents turn everyday moments into opportunities for faith-friendly learning without the stress of unguided experimentation.

Our stories, such as ‘Zia, A Fantastic Photon’, spark questions about light and shadows that children can easily explore in their own living rooms. By reading about these concepts in a scholar-authored narrative, children see that exploring nature is a way of appreciating Allah Almighty’s design. This values-based reading provides the context for safe investigation. We use up-levelled vocabulary to help them describe what they are doing, which builds their literacy and their confidence. Through full-colour illustrations, we model the behaviour of a careful observer. This character development is key to helping them understand the limits and the purpose of their curiosity. Wise Compass provides a stable framework for this kind of thinking, making it a natural part of their Muslim identity. You will find that these stories act as a catalyst for deeper conversations and simple, safe activities that bring the family together. By encouraging your child to test their ideas against reality, we help them grow into observant and thoughtful thinkers who respect both the laws of nature and the guidance of our faith.
