Does Wise Compass teach emotional intelligence, reading feelings and responding thoughtfully?

Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand our own feelings and to be sensitive to the emotions of those around us. Wise Compass helps children develop this essential skill by weaving emotional awareness into the heart of every story. As Muslim parents, we want our children to be self-aware and empathetic, responding to others with the mercy and wisdom taught in the noble Quran. Our Islamic stories for kids show that while feelings are natural, we have the power to choose how we react to them. By following the extraordinarily composed and compassionate character of holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, children learn to navigate their internal world with grace.

Our stories feature characters who experience a wide range of emotions, from frustration and anger to joy and curiosity. In Road Rage, children explore the concept of Sabr and learn how to manage their reactions when they feel annoyed. This values-based reading provides a safe space for children to reflect on their own feelings and to practice responding thoughtfully rather than impulsively. This builds their social-emotional learning and strengthens their character. They begin to realise that their emotions are a sign from Allah Almighty that needs to be handled with care. Wise Compass provides the language for children to express their needs clearly and to understand the impact of their words on others. By making emotional intelligence an attractive and heroic trait, we help children build more resilient relationships. They learn that by being mindful of their hearts and the hearts of others, they are bringing Barakah into their daily lives and living in a way that is sincere and pleasing to their Creator.
