Parenting Perspective
Supporting a child who believes a small object controls the global economy requires a calm explanation of how the world works. For a child with a loud brain a lucky coin can become a heavy burden where they feel responsible for the financial safety of everyone. This type of thinking suggests that if they lose the coin a market crash will happen. By maintaining a grounded and objective tone you can help them distinguish between a simple metal object and the vast systems that manage money.
Correcting the Scale of Influence
When a child feels the need to guard a coin for safety, they are trying to manage a world that feels unpredictable. You should explain that the economy is run by millions of adults and large banks and is not affected by the location of a single coin. A practical approach is to show them that the market is a complex system far away from their pocket. You should avoid flowery language and focus on the fact that no child has the power to change the world economy with a toy or a coin. By leading with the idea that the world is stable and managed by capable people you allow the child to let go of this false responsibility. This helps the child return to their own life while the adults handle the world.
Breaking the Connection to the Object
Developing resilience involves teaching the child to test the fear by putting the coin away for a while. You can suggest a script for them to use when the urge to check the coin arises: ‘This is just a piece of metal, and it does not have the power to change the world. The economy is safe and it is not my job to protect it with this coin.’ Encourage them to leave the coin in a drawer for a day to see that nothing bad happens. Using an objective tone helps them see that the world remains stable even when the coin is not in their hand. When a child learns to trust the stability of the world without a lucky object they gain mental freedom. This practical discipline helps them realise that they are safe and that their belongings do not carry magical powers over others.
Spiritual Insight
Faith provides a sense of peace by reminding the heart that the control of all things in the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah Almighty alone. Understanding that no object has its own power helps a child releases the pressure of these fears.
Allah Almighty states in noble Quran at Surah Al Anaam (6), Verse 102:
‘That is Allah Almighty, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things.’
This reminds us that Allah Almighty is the one who manages every part of the world and a small coin has no power to interfere with the plan of the Creator.
It is recorded in Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2664, that holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
‘Seek help from Allah Almighty and do not feel helpless.’
This teaches us that when a child feels overwhelmed by the fear of a crash they should turn to Allah Almighty for strength and remember that He is the one who keeps the world secure.
Supporting a child through this fear involves anchoring them in the practical reality of the world and the spiritual truth that Allah Almighty is the Controller. When the child understands that the Divine is in charge they can let go of the lucky coin. This balanced approach allows them to live without the fear of causing a global disaster. By providing a steady and grounded perspective you help your child build a mind that is at rest. Every day they spend without the coin proves to them that the world remains secure under the care of the Most Merciful. This growth is a vital part of their journey toward becoming a peaceful individual. Faith and logic work together to provide the safety they need to be children.
