What Dua can I read to place my trust in Allah Almighty for my child’s future?

Parenting Perspective

Balancing Effort with Trust

As a parent, you carry hopes and fears for your child’s future every day, especially if they have special educational needs (SEN) or unique challenges. You do your best with therapy, learning, and daily care, but sometimes the worry about tomorrow can feel heavy on your heart. Islam beautifully reminds us that while you plant the seeds, the outcome is always in Allah Almighty’s hands.

Making Dua a Daily Ritual

Trusting Allah Almighty does not mean giving up on effort; it means knowing that your efforts, no matter how small, are seen and valued. Take time each day, perhaps after Fajr or before you sleep, to pause and place your child’s journey into His care. Say your worries aloud in Dua: ‘O Allah Almighty, I entrust my child to Your perfect protection and Your wisdom.’

Duas for Comfort and Guidance

You can also read specific Duas from the Sunnah that bring comfort to a parent’s heart. For example, the powerful Dua of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS) for his children is a beautiful one to recite, as mentioned in the noble Quran at Surah Ibrahim (14), Verse 40:

My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord and accept my supplication. ‘

Another powerful supplication is the Dua for ease and success, from Surah Taha (20), Verses 25–27:

My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance]; And ease for me my task; And untie the knot from my tongue.

These words remind you that guidance, clarity, and courage come only from Him.
